Glenys Hannan - Lending Consultant, Napier
To do what we do, you really need empathy and to want to help people. I am a Branch lender so 90% of any Lending is done face to face. Our members trust us to assist with improving their financial position as we help them grow in confidence with banking. We’re not here to tick boxes - we’re here to make sure members have a really good experience, and are happy to have developed the relationship with Credit Union Baywide.
Carissa Quaife – Risk Adviser, Hastings
The financial industry is always changing, which means that work is never ‘business as usual’. We work hard to stay in-step, which is busy, but that’s the part I like the most; it’s never boring. What my team does is ensure our Credit Union is always up to date with the regulatory changes occurring throughout the financial services industry, and ensuring Credit Union Baywide meets its legal obligations, so we can continue helping members throughout New Zealand.
Lile Pine - Multi Branch Manager, Auckland
Whether they’re accessing $50 or $500 it’s all about that satisfaction from the customer. Often, it’s not just monetary help we offer. It might be an hour on the phone, talking to a member about how to use internet banking. They will thank us for our patience and taking the time to do that for them but as I always say, it’s no bother – patience is free!
I think I will always stay customer-facing. I just love the interaction!
Mike Savage – Branch Manager, Christchurch
Our goal is to give our members complete confidence and provide professional advice that is based on recommending the best products to suit their needs. Ranging from identifying the right savings options and showing them how to use mobile banking, to setting up a KiwiSaver account or the tools needed to get their home loan deposit savings on track. We pride ourselves on the fact that we get to know each individual and help them to reach their own goals and life ambitions. Working here means a whole lot more than simply working in a bank, it allows me to do my best for others.
Credit Union Baywide offer their staff exceptional development opportunities across all aspects of their roles. We are committed to ensuring staff are not only equipped to be expert in the technical capabilities required to succeed, but we aim to develop the whole person. For our leaders, we provide a professional Leadership Development Programme that enhances their personal effectiveness and their ability to lead their teams confidently.
